Modera Hosts Educational Luncheon for its Scholarship Recipients

Modera Wealth Management, LLC, a Westwood firm with a national presence, joined local businesses this summer in awarding graduating high school seniors with scholarships. Modera awarded scholarships to two senior students who have demonstrated a commitment to their communities as evidenced by volunteer work throughout their high school years and an interest in financial services. The candidates were asked to provide a paragraph describing how they fulfill the criteria and were required to be in the top quartile of their class. The scholarship recipients were Christian Essner, who graduated from Pascack Hills High School and will be attending Bentley College, and Juan Cortes, a graduate of North Valley Old Tappan High School who will attend the State University of New York. The students and their parents met with Modera staff members over an educational luncheon this summer to learn more about careers in wealth management and gain an overview on the various paths within financial services. Greg Plechner, principal and wealth manager at Modera, noted, “We hope to be a resource for these bright individuals as they start college and continue to explore a career in financial services.”
With roots going back to 1983, Modera currently employs 43 staff members, including 23 with the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, three Chartered Financial Analysts, two CPAs, and others with advanced designations.
