Police Accreditation Presentation, Westvale Discussions at Council Meeting

Members of the Westwood governing body are scheduled to give a presentation during the council meeting Tuesday to personnel congratulating them on receiving their accreditation.

The department went through a process to receive the distinction from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement (CALEA), which included a public comment portion in October. CALEA found the Westwood Police Department met all the criteria to receive the accreditation.

Also on the council agenda is discussion about the playground and a possible grand opening for the facility. Council members are also expected to hear an update about the improvements and the Broadway intersection improvement project.

The Westwood council meeting is scheduled to begin Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the , 101 Washington Ave.
