Power Outages Persist in Washington Township, Westwood
PSE&G is reporting fewer than previously though

As PSE&G crews continue to work to restore power to the area, there is good news for some in Westwood and Washington Township.
Power has been restored to many homes in the borough and the township. According to the latest outage map, between one and 500 customers in both Westwood and Washington Township remain without power, a significant decrease from Monday.

According to PSE&G's latest update at 4:30 p.m., 83,000 customers remain without power and the utility has restored more than 83 percent of those who lost electricity. The utility expects to have at least 95 percent of customers restored by Thursday.
There are currently 262 crews and troubleshooters, 116 line contractor crews and 212 tree crews working to restore power, according to PSE&G. The utility is also getting assistance from six mutual aid crews from Potomac Electric Corporation, and additional mutual aid crews are coming from Southern Company.

PSE&G reports that the weekend storm caused more damage to its infrastructure than Hurricane Irene back in August.
