Shop for a Cause at Chico's Thursday

The boutique will donate 10 percent of proceeds to help with flood relief in northern New Jersey

, which has a location in downtown Westwood, has partnered with the Northern New Jersey chapter of the American Red Cross to hold a Shop for a Cause event Thursday.

The clothing store will donate 10 percent of all purchases made during a scheduled personal shopping appointment from 2 to 7 p.m. to the relief organization. The money is earmarked for flood relief in the northern New Jersey area.

According to Sales Manager Rosanne Geylin, who works at the Westwood location, store personnel hope to get 30 appointments during the designated time tomorrow. There are still time slots available for interested women.

Geylin said when a woman comes in at the scheduled time, store personnel focus on her and work with her to meet her clothing needs.

"Once she purchases her items, 10 percent will be donated to support victims of local floods," Geylin said.

She added that if women come to the Westwood store Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. without an appointment, employees will ask if they want to participate in the program.

"They personally don't benefit, but it's just a feel good, help your neighbor feeling," Geylin said.
