Three Car Accident on Kinderkamack
A three car accident on Kinderkamack Rd. caused one injury, road closure
A three car accident closed a stretch of Kinderkamack Rd. early Tuesday afternoon. Two ambulances came to the scene, Westwood police said.
Westwood Police Chief Frank Regino received multiple 911 calls about the accident starting at 12:35 p.m., reporting a silver vehicle driving at a very high speed north bound on Kinderkamack Rd.
Northvale resident Nicole Italiano, 25, driving the silver car, crossed the double yellow lines, hitting two other cars, Regino said. She was driving while under the influence, he said.

Italiano passed a car and was driving north bound over the speed limit, on the south bound side of Kinderkamack, when she struck a Parking Authority van.
"The parking authority van got struck in the front left," Regino said. "Then the silver car veered off to the left, struck the curb and mounted up on the side walk, taking down a couple of parking signs."

The car then hit another mini van traveling south bound, after crossing the double yellow lines, before coming to a halt on the opposite side of the street, Regino said.
Traffic was shut down at the intersection of Kinderkamack and Lake St. in Westwood through Hillsdale from approximately 12:35 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The Parking Authority driver was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center after complaining of head, neck and back pain. No other injuries were sustained.
Italiano was arrested and will be charged with driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphanelia and possession of CDS, Regino said.
