Timology - Seasons Change - THE GYM of Montvale

Seasons change and so should your eating habits.

I hate to play the spoiler but summer as we know it has vanished. That’s alarming to me because I’m still trying to shed those last 10 pounds I promised myself I would get rid of in May.

Believe me, I’m not alone in this boat. I have eyes and have seen there are a few more people in the same boat as me. Most of us enjoyed the summer way too much.

There must be a negative correlation between decks, pools, and beaches that make us over eat. The research is ugly! Research tells us that the weight we accumulate in summer is only 3 to 5 pounds but we never lose it. The funny thing is research also states the exact same thing about the holiday season. This means that we are in a never ending cycle of small incremental weight gains. However, there is some hope but it may not be easy. The first thing we must do is put the fork down and make our final toast to the summer.  No, I’m not saying to eat with your hands but I’m saying to eat wisely.

Here are of few suggestions to help you get started.

1. Make your first meal the biggest of the day and taper off in the evening.

2. Check your portions. If you think “wow” when you see the plate, it’s too much.

3. No good food comes out of box…. or wine. Cook fresh food!

4. Limit take out as it is the lowest quality and worst prepared food you can eat.

Often times there is pain before progress.

Eat Well, Train Hard!
