The 200 Club of Bergen County awarded their Valor Award to Washington Township Police Corporal Michael Glock and Police Officer Jason Gugger at a ceremony held May 9. <a href="http://www.200club.org/content/Valor_Awards_Program.aspx" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The award</a> is given to police for "an act of bravery, beyond the call of duty, and imminent personal risk to his or her own life and safety, with full knowledge of the risk involved." Glock and Gugger responded to a call on Jackson Avenue around 1:30 a.m. on March 21, 2011. When police arrived at the scene, and hit a patrol vehicle. More police arrived and the man continued to shoot. Police returned fire, killing the 48-year-old man.
