Township Zoning Board Hires Engineer for CVS Proposal
Board members approved choices for the engineer and for the 2011 board attorney Tuesday
Washington Township Zoning Board members approved their 2011 attorney and an engineer to work on the proposed CVS project at their meeting Tuesday night.
Donna Baboulis, who has been the board’s attorney since 2006, was approved once again for the position which pays $110 per hour. All board members present voted in favor of Baboulis.
"It's always a challenge and I look forward to the somewhat major applications coming up," Baboulis said.

The board also voted unanimously to hire Chris Statile of the firm CP Statile as the engineer to work on the proposed CVS on the corner of Washington Avenue and Pascack Road.
“I’m please to work with the board on this application,” Statile said.

The board will continue hearing the at its meeting on March 15. The board will also hear Sky Trading’s plan to build a new convenience store and gas station on the site of the existing gas station which is also at the corner of Washington Avenue and Pascack Road.
The board also passed the resolution of denial for Immaculate Heart Academy’s proposed LED sign, after being unable to vote on it at their last meeting due to board member absence. The when neighbors on Van Emburgh Avenue brought a petition to the board.
Board member Rick Sonntag expressed concern over the number of typos in the resolution of denial, so corrections were made to the document before voting was complete. The four board members who were present and had also been present for IHA’s application all voted for the resolution. Members John O’Connell, Michael Ullman and Michael Werfel abstained.
Also passed by the board was the approval of Michael Martino’s plans to build a two-car garage and an extension onto his house. The to allow Martino to build the extension due to the unusual placement of the building on the lot. Five board members voted for the approval and two abstained.
