Westwood Attorney Appointed to Defend Oradell in Suit
Robert Regan will serve as legal counsel for Oradell against a suit filed by Robert Pizzuto

The Oradell Council unanimously appointed of Westwood to serve as legal counsel in the suit, . The appointment was made during a 6 p.m. closed session meeting.
The newest lawsuit that the Borough of Oradell is facing was filed by former Councilman Robert Pizzuto earlier this month following the appointment of  as the new borough attorney. Pizzuto's suit was filed in Bergen County Superior Court before Judge Joseph Conte.
At issue was the fact that on Jan. 25 Mayor Dianne Didio made the nomination to reappoint Andrew Oddo as borough attorney. During the January meeting, only Democratic Councilman Michael Harte made the motion to approve the nomination but no other council member supported Oddo's reappointment.

Oddo subsequently advised the Council they had to wait 30 days to either approve Didio's nominations or make their own. On Feb. 22, three days prior to the end of the wait period, Council President Joseph Murray motioned to appoint Brian Giblin as Borough Attorney and was approved unanimously by the sitting Republican council members.
The borough is required to respond to Pizzuto's suit in Bergen County Superior Court by March 27.

Regan has served as the Borough Attorney for Harrington Park, Midland Park and Upper Saddle River and as the Planning Board Attorney for Montvale, Old Tappan and Norwood.
He has been based out of Westwood since 1977 and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Municipal Law Committee of the Bergen County Bar Association. He has his BA degree from Fordham University and his law degree from the University of Toledo.
