Sudden Cardiac arrest is one of our nation’s leading killers. Nearly 400,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur annually in the United States It is call “Sudden” because many victims appear healthy with no known heart disease or other risk factors. Odds are the person will not survive
The Westwood Rotary NJ Club began Facilitating the American Heart Association’s HANDS ONLY™ CPR program in May to our local community. We have trained 50 people so far.

Hands-Only CPR is CPR without mouth-to-mouth breaths. When a teen or adult has a sudden cardiac arrest, survival depends on immediately getting CPR from someone nearby. Sadly, 89 percent of people who suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest die because they don’t receive immediate CPR from someone on the scene. Most Americans (70 percent) feel helpless to act during a cardiac emergency because they don’t know how to administer CPR or they’re afraid of hurting the victim. DON'T be afraid to act!
The Westwood Rotary will come to your organization to facilitate a training session. It takes about 30 minutes to learn. To schedule a session, please send an email to WestwoodRotaryNJ@Gmail.com. We'll get back to you immediately. Check-out our web site at http://www.westwoodrotarynj.com/
