Father Daughter Kickstarter Cancer Bracelet Campaign Nears $17K
Wyckoff's Rebecca and Gerhard Salmins created Knots & Arrows as a way of encouraging other cancer survivors.
WYCKOFF, N.J. — A local family's efforts to encourage cancer survivors keeps growing.
Gerhard and Becca Salmins' Kickstarter campaign has raised nearly $17,000 of its $25,000 for their bracelet-making business, Knots & Arrows. Gerhard survived cancer as a young adult and Becca, 9, known affectionately as Becca Boo online, is a leukemia survivor.
The father-daughter team launched the Kickstarter campaign last month. All the money will be used to get the business up and running. Proceeds will be donated to the Tackle Kids Cancer Foundation at Hackensack University Medical center where they were treated.

"When you've reached the end of your rope, tie and knot and hang on," Salmins' mother, Sherry previously said. "And an arrow can only be shot by dragging it backwards. So, when life seems to be dragging you back, it's getting ready to launch you into something great."
