More Than $54,000 Donated To Children Of Murdered Bergen Mother
Michele Sabia's 3 kids — ages 14, 11, and 9 — were orphaned when her husband, Scott, killed her and then himself in their home last week.
More than $54,000 has been donated to help the children of a mother whose husband murdered her on their front lawn last week and then killed himself after a standoff with police.
A friend of the family, Joseph Bisone, started the GoFundMe campaign, to help Michele and Scott Sabia's children.
Sabia, 45, shot and killed Michele, 44, on the front lawn of their Carlstadt home last week. He then went inside the house and, after a tense standoff with police, turned the 12-gauge shotgun on himself, and killed himself.

The children were inside the house for part of the ordeal. They escaped unharmed to a neighbor's house, authorities said.

Bisone, a friend of Michele Sabia's brother, started the fund to try and raise $70,000 for her children; 700 people have donated the money since the campaign began four days ago.
"Thanks to those who have given donations, and to those who continue to spread the word," Bisone stated on the campaign page.
