Interviews moving forward in Farmington homicide case (tricityrecordnm.com) — A Farmington man's homicide case is moving ahead as defense attorneys continue interviews tied to the 2025 killing of Kenneth Bill and battery of Tanya Romero. The judge scheduled another virtual status hearing for Nov. 9 in Aztec, while the defendant remains charged with second-degree murder and related offenses after prior arrests and competency evaluations. 
2. A look back at the week Sept. 21 (tricityrecordnm.com) — Farmington shows up repeatedly in this historical roundup, from a 1926 note about a former editor moving to town to open a Piggly Wiggly to a 1916 account of local attorneys forming the San Juan County Bar Association. The piece highlights how Farmington's civic, legal, and business life has evolved over the last century.
3. Shiprock High volleyball closes out Aztec in five-set thriller (tricityrecordnm.com) — Farmington High's girls soccer team rolled to a 5-0 road win over Miyamura, pushing the Scorpions to an impressive 10-1 record. Led by a hat trick from Rochelle Tadeo, Farmington now turns its attention to a big home district opener Wednesday against sixth-ranked Rio Rancho.
4. New Mexico monsoon brings heavy rain, flash flood risk and cooler temperatures (abqjournal.com subscription) — Farmington is in line for some monsoon rain this week, though forecasters expect slightly less than central and eastern New Mexico and no current flash flood watch. Temperatures will run about 10 degrees below normal, and while Albuquerque's Rio Grande irrigation deliveries are resuming, Farmington residents mainly need to prepare for cooler, unsettled weather and possible localized flooding.
