Police: Bay Shore Man Beat, Robbed Woman And Then Left Her on Southern State
Man arrested Thursday following incident on Monday, police say.

A Bay Shore man faces assault and robbery charges after State Police say her beat and robbed a woman on Monday before leaving her on the side of the road on the Southern State Parkway.
Antoine Smiley, 28, was arrested on Thursday, police said.
According to police, state troopers responded to Exit 37 of the Southern State–Belmont Avenue–in the Town of Babylon on Monday after a passing motorist observed an injured woman and contacted 911.

When troopers arrived at the scene, they found a seriously injured woman who was then rendered aid and transported to a nearby hospital, police said.
An investigation revealed that Smiley, who is currently on parole, had violently assaulted and robbed the woman before leaving her on the side of the road, police said.

Police did not reveal if there was any prior relationship between Smiley and the victim.
