Stork’s Prime Meats Grand Re-Opening Celebration Saturday

The store was destroyed by a fire last year, but it's time for a comeback.

Destroyed by a devastating fire one year ago, Stork’s Prime Meats, located at 27 John St. in Babylon, will celebrate its official grand re-opening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13.

The celebration will include raffles, free hot dogs, and other giveaways. In addition to a full selection of the finest prime meats and poultry available, Stork’s now features a selection of hot and cold lunches, including burgers and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, as well as a selection of hot and cold dinners.

Founded in Germany, Stork’s has over 100 years of history in the butcher business. In 1952, the store was located in the Fishel Building on Main Street in Babylon and relocated to John Street in 1972. Stork’s Prime Meats has been owned and operated by Peter and Terrie Stork, along with their son Peter Jr., since 1993, which is when they purchased the business from Peter’s father, Frank.

A family-owned business that has always taken great pride in putting their customers first, Peter Stork says: “We are not only your local butcher shop, we are also a place that believes in meeting and greeting our customers with friendship and of course great food. A visit to our new and improved gourmet market / prime meats butcher shop will be a pleasant and worthwhile experience.”
