• Bellport Man Charged With Animal Cruelty After Dog, 10, Found Wounded And Infested With Flies: SPCA (patch.com) — A Bellport resident has been charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty after authorities say a 10-year-old dog was found underweight, with open wounds and infested with flies. The dog is now receiving medical care at a local shelter, and the man is due in First District Court next month. Officials urge Bellport residents to report any suspected animal neglect to the SPCA.
