The Fountains at RiverVue Hosts First Senior Prom
Attendees Have Long Graduated High School but Retained their Youthful Zest for Life
Prom season is well underway, and the event is not limited to a high school age group. Nearly 50 residents from the Fountains at RiverVue, a Watermark Retirement Community, gathered May 12 at Tuckahoe Community Center for their first Senior Prom. The nonstop dancing and permanent smiles proved having fun at prom is an ageless tradition.
Community Life Director Reghan Giannelli said she had “goosebumps” after seeing the residents make the most of the night. “I wanted to plan something to get them out of their homes for a change of scenery and celebrate the world opening up to them,” she added. “They lived cautiously for two years during the height of the pandemic, so they needed this; they deserved it. I loved seeing them get their hair done, get out to shop with their families, and, of course, just live life to the very fullest on prom night.”
“It was the most magical night I’ve had in a very long time,” said resident Nancy Schaller, who was selected in a random drawing for “prom queen.” Her “king” was Robert Chira.

Responses like this validated the efforts of Giannelli and the many other associates from the Fountains at RiverVue involved in the planning and execution.
Still feeding off the energy from the night, resident Joan Deery shared with the RiverVue team: “Thank you, thank you, thank you! I cannot thank you all enough!”

In addition to the Fountains at RiverVue associates, others who helped make the night a success were Frank D’Ambrosio, singer and performer; John Galluzzi, recreation director for the Tuckahoe Community Center; Carol Messina with FX Video; and Roma Restaurant, the caterer.
