St. Joseph School Bronxville Salutes Local Veterans

The students at St. Joseph School Bronxville honored local veterans with a ceremony and reception.

On Wednesday, the students at St. Joseph's School in Bronxville honored the true heroes of our time, our military veterans! In honor of Veterans’ Day, our middle school Social Studies teacher, Mr. Martin White, orchestrated the First Annual SJS Salute to Veterans’ Ceremony.

SJS honored fifteen veterans who marched through the campus greeted by the waving of flags and a thunderous applause from the SJS Community. The ceremony was opened with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Each one of the Veterans was individually introduced. Many were family members of the students.

One of the seventh graders bravely treated all assembled to a beautiful solo rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner." The entire school community joined together to sing “God Bless America." It was such a special morning for the entire SJS family.

Thank you to the Rivera Family for donating hundreds of flags and the SJS Mothers’ Club for providing a lovely reception for the Veterans and 8th Graders at the close of the phenomenal ceremony.

We couldn’t be more grateful to our Veterans who have sacrificed so much to allow our country to flourish- we live in the “home of the free, because of the brave.”
