• $128M Multi-Service Center Opens In Brownsville (patch.com) — A brand-new $128 million Brownsville Multi-Service Center has opened in the neighborhood, offering office space, meeting rooms, a commercial kitchen, and a community garden for local organizations. The all-electric, LEED-targeted building was finished two years early and $10 million under budget, and will host groups including Brooklyn Community Board 16 to expand services for Brownsville residents.

• Man fighting for his life after being shot in the head in Brooklyn (amny.com) — A 27-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in the head at a Rutland Road deli in Brownsville early Monday morning. Police say the gunman fled in a gray sedan, and detectives are still searching for clues as shootings in the precinct have otherwise dropped sharply this year.
