Chappaqua, Mount Kisco Election Results 2016: Village Board, State Senate, DA

MOUNT KISCO, NY — Registered voters in Mount Kisco and Chappaqua chose candidates for president and vice president, United States senator, state Supreme Court Justices and representatives to U.S. Congress, state Senate and state Assembly.

Anthony Scarpino handily defeated Bruce Bendish in the election for Westchester County District Attorney. With 99 percent of election districts reporting as of 1:31 a.m., Scarpino had received 239,342 votes and Bendish had received 104,912 votes. Results are unofficial until verified.

In State Senate District 4o, with 320 of 330 districts counted, as of 12:10 a.m. incumbent Terrence Murphy had 73,306 votes and challenger Alison Boak had 51,755 votes, according to unofficial results from the New York State Board of Elections.

With 4 out of 7 election districts reporting as of 11:58 p.m. in the Mount Kisco Town/Village Board race, Jean Farber had 751 votes, Karen Schleimer had 735 votes and Patric Kilkenny had 172 votes, according to unofficial results from the Westchester County Board of Elections.

U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer is the projected winner in his re-election campaign, with 77 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results from the New York State Board of Elections at 9:45 p.m.

In the 18th Congressional District, with all districts reporting as of 2 a.m., Sean Patrick Maloney was elected to a third term, receiving 149,056 votes to Phil Oliva's 120,967 votes, according to unofficial results from the New York State Board of Elections.

In the 17th, Rep. Nita Lowey was unopposed.

Chappaqua residents supporting local resident Hillary Clinton's historic campaign celebrated Election Day with special events including a flashmob patterned on the Pantsuit Power video that went viral in October.

The key to party affiliations: D = Democratic, R = Republican, C = Conservative, WF = Working Families, G = Green, IND = Independence, LBT = Libertarian, WEP = Women’s Equality Party and REF = Reform.

For President of the United States

The candidates for president and vice president are Republicans Donald Trump and Mike Pence, Democrats Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine, Libertarians Gary Johnson and Bill Weld and Green Party Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka.

For U.S. Senate

New York’s senior Senator Chuck Schumer (D) faces three challengers: Wendy Long (R), Alex Merced (L), and Robin Laverne Wilson (G).

For United States Congress

In District 17, which covers Rockland County and central and northwestern Westchester County, incumbent Nita Lowey is unopposed.

For New York State Senate

State Senate District 37 includes the cities of New Rochelle, Rye, White Plains, Yonkers; and the towns of Harrison, Mamaroneck, North Castle, Rye, Bedford and Eastchester. Incumbent George Latimer, (D-WF-WEP) is being challenged by Julia Killian, (R-C-IND-REF).

State Senate District 40 includes parts of Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties, including Beekman, Carmel, Cortlandt, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, Mount Pleasant, New Castle, North Salem, Patterson, Pawling, Pound Ridge, Somers, Southeast, Yorktown; and the city of Peekskill. First-term incumbent Terrence Murphy (R-C-IND-REF) is seeking re-election. He is challenged by Alison Boak (D-WF). The two have run a contentious campaign.

For New York State Assembly

Assembly District 93 is comprised of parts of northern and southern Westchester County, including Bedford, Mount Kisco, New Castle, Pound Ridge and Armonk and portions of Purchase and Harrison. David Buchwald, D-WF-IND-WEP, is running unopposed for reelection.

Westchester County District Attorney

Democrat Anthony Scarpino and Republican Bruce Bendish are vying to replace interim Westchester County District Attorney James McCarty. He has been holding the job vacated by Janet DiFiore when she was appointed to the New York Court of Appeals by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Supreme Court, 9th Judicial District

Three people are running unopposed for three seats: Linda Jamieson, (D-R-WF-IND), Janet Malone (D-R-WF-IND), and Thomas E. Walsh II (D-R-WF-IND).

Mount Kisco

Three people are running for two seats on the Mount Kisco village/town board: incumbents Jean Farber and Karen Schleimer (both D-IND) and Republican challenger Patric Kilkenny.

Justice Mark Farrell is unopposed in his bid for re-election. The library trustee election is also unopposed, with four members of the Book Party running for four seats: Dennis Gochuico, C. Jane Pendergast, Karine Patino and Perry Wootten.
