Chappaqua Taxpayers Could See Small Rise in 2016 Tax Rate
The tentative budget is well under the state-mandated tax cap.

The Town of New Castle has sent out an e-newsletter to let Chappaqua and Millwood residents know that the 2016 budget process has started.
Supervisor Rob Greenstein said the tentative budget was presented to the board at the end of September and was posted on the town’s website earlier this month.
The budget proposes a 0.87 percent increase in the tax rate which could mean a $27 annual increase for the average homeowner.

Under the 2-percent tax cap legislation, the town could have raised the tax levy by close to $600,000. The tentative tax levy increase, however, is $92,052, while still increasing infrastructure expenditures.
