Youths Throwing Ice, False Alarms: Mount Kisco Blotter

MOUNT KISCO, NY — Here are some of the recent incidents to which Westchester County Police have responded in Mount Kisco.

Friday, March 15 – 1:58 p.m. -- The owner of a business on Lexington Avenue reported to Westchester County Police that someone entered the premises and stole an iPad valued at $700 and a jar containing about $30 in coins. The owner said that he forgot to lock a rear door when he left the previous evening about 10 p.m.

9:42 a.m. – A resident of Spring Street reported that she discovered several discarded items in her front yard, including a beer can and a long stick with a hook on one end.

7:59 a.m. – Westchester County Police responded to a residence on Orchard Road after a woman was injured when a china cabinet fell on her. The woman said she was cleaning the top of the cabinet when it toppled over on her, striking her in the head and knocking her unconscious briefly. Westchester EMS paramedics and the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded to aid the woman. MKVAC transported her to Northern Westchester Hospital Center.

Thursday, March 14 – 9:46 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Kisco Avenue in the vicinity of Hubbels Drive on a report that a man was walking on the railroad tracks in that area. Officers located three men adjacent to the tracks and advised them to walk on the street rather than along the tracks for their safety.

6:25 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to the Mount Kisco Public Library on a report that an alarm was sounding in the elevator there. Officers determined that the alarm had sounded in error and that no one was stuck inside.

5:01 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to a business on Lexington Avenue on an activated burglar alarm. Officers determined that the business owner had set the alarm but failed to lock the front door. The alarm sounded when a prospective customer opened the door to enter the business. The owner was contacted and advised to return to lock up.

Wednesday, March 13 – 9:08 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Amuso Drive after receiving several calls about a man walking through the complex and banging on doors. Officers determined that the man was trying to locate a relative and was in the wrong area of the complex.

Tuesday, March 12 – 7:03 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to a business on North Moger Avenue after receiving a 911 hang-up call. An employee said he had dialed in error and that there was no emergency.

6:32 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to South Moger Avenue on a report that several youths were throwing snow and ice at people in the area. The youths fled when confronted by an adult and were gone upon an officer’s arrival.
