The Friends of the Cortelyou Library presents a FREE all-ages community party to celebrate A Song for Bijou (Bloomsbury USA), a new middle-grade novel by Josh Farrar that Kirkus Reviews described as a "seriocomic tale of new love, culture clash, adolescent social stratification and friendship…a solid, timely effort.”
The event will include a reading by the author, Haitian drumming and folkloric dancing with instructor Morgan Zwerlein and Shirley St.Fort from local dance group, Le Troupe Zetwal and music by the legendary reggae artist Ossie Dellimore. All attendees will be encouraged to join the music and sample delicious Haitian patties. Food generously sponsored by Brooklyn Hearth.
