Sag Harborian Billy Baldwin not only draws inspiration from our village, he sweetens it with his gift of storytelling! The author of twelve children’s books, screenplays, creator of a successful cookie company, and all-around treasured community member joins us for May’s Knowledge Friday. Currently adopting his stories into animated shorts and movies, Billy has an irresistible spark of imagination. Hear how his unlikely journey from a Manhattan based cookie company led to a life of continuous creativity, including the journey of becoming a writer with dyslexia. Billy is joined in conversation by Steve Hamilton, co-founder of Bay Street Theater.
And true to his spirit of giving back to the community, the altruist promises to bring cookies for the audience to enjoy! Likewise copies of Billy’s books will be available to purchase, with proceeds to benefit The Church.

Last year marked the 100th anniversary of the publication of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, a classic of American Literature that many think deepens in significance with repeated readings. Share the Harvest Farm invites the community to celebrate the start of the season at its Spring Market on Saturday, May 2nd at St. Luke’s Church in East Hampton.
This lively, community-centered event will feature 20 local vendors offering artisan goods, prepared foods, and handmade items. Guests will enjoy live music by Reilly Rose, a curated raffle featuring local experiences and products, and a welcoming space to gather and connect.
Adding to the experience, guests will be able to enjoy “Spring in a Bottle” from Wölffer Estate, served by EAST + PALM to sip while they browse.
The Spring Market serves as an important fundraiser for Share the Harvest Farm, with participating vendors donating 20% of their proceeds to support the farm’s spring start-up costs. These funds help power the farm’s mission of growing and donating fresh, organically grown produce to families across the East End, often within hours of harvest.

Our Fabulous Variety Show (OFVS) Crew is a wonderful space to build community, learn performing arts techniques and have so much fun! The Toddies Crew is best for students ages 4-5 who have not yet started kindergarten. Crew members get discounts on most OFVS offerings including classes, excursions and shows as well as special exclusive events like our Crew-B-Q and our Crewbilee end-of-the-year celebration! These Crew Sessions include acting, dance, music, and performance training for these budding performers! This class is a great introduction to the performing arts along with fun arts and crafts activities. Students will learn how to work together, use their imaginations and express themselves creatively through play while having tons of fun.

Enjoy Crew Sessions included in your membership on MOST Saturdays during the 2025-2026 school year! Toddies will NOT meet on the following Saturdays: May 9 May 16

ARTS CENTER AT DUCK CREEK FARM

The Arts Center at Duck Creek (<a href="https://www.duckcreekarts.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.duckcreekarts.org/</a>) is set to host their fourth annual Airing of the Quilts on Saturday, May 2 from 12 to 5 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday, May 3. All are welcome to participate in airing their quilts in this celebration of community, creativity and the arrival of spring. This cherished tradition symbolizes the transition from winter into spring. The age-old practice of quilt-making fosters creativity, storytelling and community across generations. 

From 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. participants are invited to come out and hang their quilts for all to see. From 12 – 5 p.m., guests are welcome to walk the grounds and view an array of quilts, new and old, including 3 years of Community Quilts made for this event. 

Duck Creek exhibitor Andrea Cote will lead two Cyanotype Quilt Square Workshops, taking place at 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Each guest will receive a piece of light-sensitive fabric and create a quilt square, using nothing but objects and sunlight. Finished squares will be sewn together by Louise Eastman to create the 2026 Duck Creek Community Quilt. Additional squares will be available for guests to work on at home. 

“Bringing the Airing of the Quilts tradition to Duck Creek was the inspired vision of local artist Louise Eastman. The event weaves together everything Duck Creek holds dear: community, craft, and the joy of a new season. Everyone is invited to hang their quilts, share the stories behind them, and collaborate on our yearly Community Quilt. It is, in every sense, a perfect expression of Duck Creek's mission to make the arts inclusive and accessible,” shares Duck Creek Executive Director Jess Frost.

We are grateful to collaborate with Hope And Resilience Long Island (HARLI) to bring you an informative and meaningful discussion bringing awareness to human trafficking and the actionable steps we can take to prevent it. Bianca C. Collins, Vice President of HARLI and enrolled tribal citizen of the Shinnecock Nation, Alyssa Harrilal, a survivor of human trafficking and member of the ECLI-VIBES Survivors board, and Nina Hobson, a former British detective and current Head of Security for global executive protection teams, are joined by moderator Patricia McCormick, the best-selling author of SOLD and Never Fall Down. 
All speakers and the moderator have unique expertise on human trafficking, providing a depth of knowledge and sensitivity aimed to illuminate a difficult yet critical topic.
