Drunk Driver Caught Speeding, Heading Into Opposite Lane: Police
Empty beer bottles were found in the man's backseat, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — An East Hampton man was slapped with felony charges after he was caught driving drunk and speeding without a license or an interlock device on Friday, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Luis A. Yamba-Tenezaca, 24, was arrested on Friday at 11:45 p.m. on Springs Fireplace Road after speeding in a 2006 Audi north, near Hartley Boulevard, driving 52 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone.
He drove over pavement markings and into the opposite lane of travel, and was seen following too closely, police said.

Upon investigation, authorities saw several empty beer bottles in his backseat; he was found to have the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests administered, police said.
He consented to the Intoxilyzer 9000 test; Yamba-Tenezca has a prior conviction for driving with .08 percent of 1 percent or more alcohol in blood from 2015 out of East Hampton, police said.

Yamba-Tenezaca was arrested and charged with driving with .08 of 1 percent or more alcohol, prior conviction of the designated offense within 10 years, a felony; he was also charged with first degree aggravated unlicensed operation/committed aggravated unlicensed operation 2/alcohol or drug, a felony; driving while intoxicated, previous conviction of designated offense within 10 years, a felony, and driving without an interlock device, a misdemeanor, police said.
He was placed into the custody of the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department, police said.
