East Hampton Braces For Thursday's Potential Blizzard

BREAKING: Schools are closed and East Hampton Town has its equipment ready to handle the potential blizzard conditions Thursday.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — East Hampton Town is gearing up for a blast of winter slated to bring potential blizzard conditions to the area — and up to 18 inches of snow.

According to East Hampton Town Highway Superintendent Stephen Lynch, the salt trucks are loaded and ready, all contractors have been notified and are on alert, and all plows are poised to tackle the white stuff.

"We are ready to go," Lynch said.

East Hampton Town Supervisor Larry Cantwell said the town is readying equipment, supplies and personnel. East Hampton Town Justice Court will be closed Thursday; a decision on Town Hall will be made early Thursday morning, he said.

The East Hampton and Springs school districts will also be closed Thursday.
