East Hampton Under Wind Advisory, 50 MPH Gusts Possible
No snow expected Wednesday on the East End.

No snow, but lots of rain and wind.
That’s the story Wednesday for East Hampton. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the East End that goes into effect at 3 p.m. Wednesday and runs until 1 a.m. Thursday.
Winds between 20 and 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, will accompany rain through much of the day.

The strong winds have the potential to bring down large tree limbs and branches, as well as power lines, the NWS said in its advisory.

Here’s the detailed NWS forecast:
- Today- Rain. Temperature falling to around 36 by 3pm. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. Windy, with a northeast wind 14 to 19 mph increasing to 25 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 48 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
- Tonight- Rain, mainly before 3am. Low around 34. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Windy, with a northeast wind 23 to 28 mph becoming northwest 11 to 16 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Thanksgiving Day- A slight chance of rain and snow showers between 10am and 2pm, then a slight chance of rain showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. Northwest wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
- Thursday Night- A chance of flurries. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. North wind around 9 mph.
