East Hampton Woman Caught Driving Drunk With Oxycodone In Purse: Police
The pills were found in the woman's purse, police said.

WAINSCOTT, NY — An East Hampton woman was caught driving drunk with Oxycodone in her purse Friday, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Sara J. Byrnes, 61, was arrested at 10:15 p.m. on Wainscott Northwest Road in Wainscott.
Police said she was found with seven, round, blue-colored pills stamped "A215" in her purse, without a prescription, identified as oxycodone hyrdrochloride.

She was also found to have the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech, and was unsteady on her feet; she performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests, police said.
She was arrested and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1 percent alcohol or more in blood, first offense, a misdemeanor, and driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, police said.

She was released on her own recognizance, police said.
