Michelle North Platt, the mother of East Hampton resident Samantha King, started a campaign on GoFundMe to help raise money to help prevent her from being evicted from her home.

King recently had her husband removed from her home after enduring a ‘mentally and physically abusive relationship’ for 10 years, according to the GoFundMe page.

Since then, she has been fighting for custody of her three children and trying to find a job.

She recently got hired at a construction company but not before finding Eviction Notice on her door giving her 45 days to vacate her apartment, according to the page.

She owes over $1,000 in back rent and security fees and is behind with all of her utilities. She was just able to pay her car insurance and put gas in her car so she could get to and from work, with her first paycheck, according to the page.

King’s husband has not paid any Child Support or helped with any of the costs for her children and if he does pay, the money will go directly to Social Services to pay for the help that they have given her, the page reads.

“Samantha texted me, so excited that she received her first paycheck and that she was able to put gas into her car and pay her car insurance on her own. I was so happy to hear my daughter so happy and enthusiastic again,” Platt wrote on the GoFundMe page.

The eviction notice gives King until March 31 to pay the money she owes.
