Husband of Missing Sagaponack Woman Charged Twice With Violating Order of Protection

The two were seen arguing in front Meeting House Lane Medical Practice the morning the woman went missing.

The husband of a missing 40-year-old Sagaponack woman Lilia Aucapina was recently charged with violating an order of protection by both Southampton Town Police and East Hampton Town Police.

Carlos Aucapina was issued the order of protection in court by Justice Martha L. Luft while the two were in court in the process of a divorce just days before Lilia’s disappearance, according to The East Hampton Star.

He was then charged with misdemeanor criminal contempt for allegedly violating an order of protection in both towns just before his wife went missing on Saturday, Oct. 10 at about 9 a.m., according to a report in 27east.

The morning Lilia went missing, the two were involved in an argument at Meeting House Lane Medical Practice in Wainscott, according to The East Hampton Star.

She was reported missing 12 hours later at about 9:30 p.m. and a search started with police, K-9 units and several Suffolk County Police aviation units, according to Southampton Town Police.

Since then, police have been conducting searches every day, expanding out from her residence with ATV patrols, canine patrols, foot patrols and aviation patrols.

Before Lilia’s disappearance, Carlos was charged by Southampton Town Police after admitting that he violated the order of protection by speaking to her, 27east reports.

On Thursday, he was arraigned at Southampton Town Justice Court for the incident and released on a $10,000 bail.

Immediately after, he was arrested by East Hampton Town Police for violating the orderΒ in Wainscott and was arraigned on Friday in East Hampton Town Justice Court, according to East Hampton Town Police.

Despite the two violations, Southampton Town Police said that they do not have enough evidence that specifically links him to the incident, according to 27east.
