The Town purchased a parcel of land across from the local post office about four or five months ago and is now hoping to turn it into a lot due to the β€œlack of public parking in downtown Montauk,” according to Town Supervisor Larry Cantwell.

In Septmeber, Cantwell said that both officials have ”expressed interest in helping to pay for the parking lot” and that there has been support from local residents on this project.
