Montauk Man Charged With Felony DWI: Police
The man was stopped after he was seen driving over the solid white pavement markings, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A Montauk man is facing a felony DWI charge, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Michael L. McCarron, 26, was arrested on March 6 at 12:33 a.m. on Montauk Highway in Amagansett and charged with DWI: previous conviction of designated offense within 10 years, a felony.
He was driving a 1996 Ford Explorer east on Montauk Highway near Bunker Hill Road when he allegedly moved from his lane unsafely, driving over the solid white pavement markings, police said.

Upon investigation, McCarron had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath, slurred speech, and bloodshot, glassy eyes; he was unsteady on his feet and performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests, police said.
Cash bail was set at $5,000, police said.
