The Montauk Fire Department hosted hosted their Annual Inspection and Awards Dinner on Friday.
The event took place at Gosman’s Dock at 500 West Lake Drive in Montauk.
Among the attendees included Chief Joseph Lenahan; 1st Assistant Chief Vincent Franzone; 2nd Assistant Chief Fritz “Dutch” Riege; Company No. 2 Captain Edward Ecker, Jr. with his wife Roxanne; Company No 2’s Thomas Grenci, Jr. with his wife Lisa; East Hampton Fire Department Chief Richard Osterberg, Jr. with Tara Collins; Commissioner Richard Monahan; and Chairman of the Commissioners Joseph Dryer.

During the event, James C. Grimes received the award for Firefighter of the Year and Ken Walles, owner of Montauk’s Oceanside Beach Resort, became the fourth Honorary Chief in Montauk Fire Department history.
