Project Most, an after-school program for children, recently received a $31,000 grant, “Igniting Minds in the 21st Century Classroom”, from State Farm in order to build Google Chrome Book Labs at both John Marshall Elementary School and Springs School.
Both schools are currently using Google Chrome Books as an educational tool to improve learning.

With the new labs, the program will expand the current curriculum by having Youth Leaders teach students in the mastery of educational applications like Khon Academy, Typing Tutors, 3D Solar System Simulator, Learn States and Capitals, Reading and Math Skills.
In addition, youth Leaders will now run small group tutorials during the after school program and Kindergarten through 8th grade students will have the opportunity to work in small groups for 30 to 45 minutes on educational applications.

These small groups will be facilitated by a Trained Youth Leader who will earn community service to graduate high school.
Youth Leaders will learn how to set up the mobile lab of Google Chrome books and guide students through a variety of educational applications.
They will have the opportunity to reach out to the community by making presentations to parents and civic organizations.
“This project will allow the children of East Hampton to keep pace with technological advances in our society,” according to Project Most. “Our training will bridge the gap between entertainment and real learning.”
