Public Hearing On Proposed Modification To Mined Lands Reclamation Act Permit To Be Held Next Week
The hearing will be held at the Bridgehampton Community House.

A public hearing will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 19 on a proposed modification to a New York State Mined Lands Reclamation Act permit held by Sand Land Corporation in Bridgehampton.
A New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Administrative Law Judge will preside over the hearing at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at Bridgehampton Community House, , 843 Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton.
The applicant is proposing to expand the mine by 4.9 acres and to excavate 40 feet deeper than authorized under the facility’s existing permit. The mine has been permitted by DEC and operating since 1981. The Mined Land Reclamation Act was enacted by the State Legislature to ensure that reclamation of permitted mine sites occurs after mining operations are completed.
