Raising A Toast to Water Quality Improvements in East Hampton
Mayor Paul Rickenbach and Kevin McAllister celebrated the results of the vote to extend and expand the Community Preservation Fund.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — East Hampton Village Mayor Paul Rickenbach and Defend H2O Founder Kevin McAllister celebrated the successful Election Day passage of Proposition 1, which allows for the extension of the Community Preservation Fund through 2050.
The proposition also affords East End municipalities the ability to allocate up to 20 percent of two percent real estate transfer tax funds for water quality improvement initiatives.
The pair raised a toast to the East End's overwhelming support for the proposition.

Earlier in the week, a full slate of environmentalists and elected officials applauded the vote results.
"Water does a body good," Rickenbach said.
