Sag Harbor Students Share Halloween, Harvest Poems

The kids wrote about forever memories made by carving pumpkins, jumping in fall leaves and helping to bake apple pies.

SAG HARBOR, NY — Children growing up on the East End will cherish forever memories made during the harvest season.

And now, fifth graders in Kim Spolorich's class at Sag Harbor Elementary School have captured those memories in a series of fall poems they wrote to celebrate fall activities such as carving pumpkins, baking apple pies with their families, and jumping in leaves.

School officials said the project wasn't only fun, but helped to hone their writing skills, including crafting poetry.
