Nassau Man Was Driving Drunk With 2 Children In Car: Police
Police say the man's blood-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit when officers pulled him over.

A Nassau man was arrested early Sunday morning after state police say he was found driving drunk with two children in his car.
According to police, troopers were on patrol on Nassau Road and West Raymond Avenue in East Meadow around 1:30 a.m. when they saw a car change lanes unsafely and fail to use a signal. The troopers were behind the car at a red light, and the driver didn't move for about 10 seconds after it turned green, police say.
Police say that the troopers conducted a traffic stop and determined that William P. McRae, 35, of Roosevelt, was driving with a blood-alcohol level of .14 percent, nearly twice the legal limit of .08 percent. There were two children, ages 8 and 10 in the car. They were released to the custody of a family member.
