Retired NYPD Officer From East Meadow Possessed Child Porn: DA
The 47-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, authorities say.

A retired NYPD officer from East Meadow has been arrested on child porn charges, Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas announced Wednesday afternoon.
Frank Castro, 47, is charged with two counts of promoting a sexual performance and two counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, Singas said.
During March and April, investigators from Singas's office observed an individual possessing multiple images of child pornography over the internet, prosecutors said.
Investigators tracked the source of the images to Castro’s residence and seized evidence on Tuesday when Castro was arrested, Singas said.
“Innocent children are the victims of horrific sexual exploitation to produce the pornography that this defendant is accused of possessing,”she said. “Anyone trafficking child pornography in Nassau County should expect law enforcement to show up at their door.”
Castro, who now works as a security contractor after retiring from the NYPD, was arraigned on Wednesday. Bail was set at $50,000 bond or $25,000 cash and Castro is due back in court on Friday.
A judge also required that Castro surrender his pistol license. If convicted of the top count, Castro faces two and a third to seven years in prison.
