Officer Hurt Trying To Arrest Man In Farmingdale: Police

The man, who was cursing and screaming in the roadway, was "violent and combative" while resisting arrest, police say.

FARMINGDALE, NY — A Nassau police officer was injured while making an arrest in Farmingdale on Saturday, police said.

Officers were called to Conklin and Main streets at 1:57 a.m. for reports of a man causing a disturbance, police said. Officers found Bryan Flores, 36, of Farmingdale, who was cursing and screaming in the roadway, causing others to fear for their safety, police said.

One officer suffered an injury during the arrest as Flores was "violent and combative while resisting arrest," police said.

The officer was transported to a nearby hospital. Flores was also brought to a nearby hospital for a medical evaluation.

Flores was charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, pedestrian failing to use a sidewalk, resisting arrest, third-degree assault, second-degree harassment, and second-degree assault.

He had been scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court, at 99 Main St., Hempstead.
