Home Invader Was Restrained by Homeowners: Police

BREAKING: Police have named the man in the incident, and say that his gun went off, but no one was hit.

UPDATE: Police have arrested and charged Majestic S. Glover, 36, of 160th St., Jamaica, in the home invasion.

According to detectives, the investigation revealed that, after a struggle, a round was shot from the gun, but no one was hit.

A search revealed that Glover was in possession of 14 forged $50 bills and four forged $20 bills, police said.

He is charged with two counts of first degree robbery, first degree burglary, first degree criminal use of a firearm, two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, second degree criminal possession of a weapon, first degree reckless endangerment and third degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.

An armed man broke into a Valley Stream home on Tuesday but got more than he bargained for.

The man, whose name has not been released, forced his way into a home on Catherine Street in Valley Stream shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday, according to police. The invader, armed with a handgun, demanded property from the homeowner.

However, the homeowner quickly turned the tables. A struggle ensued, and the homeowner was able to overpower the invader and hold him until police arrived.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
