Couple Caused $4,000 in Damage at Long Island Gas Station, Made Anti-Muslim Remarks: Police
The two were last seen entering a car at a nearby Starbucks, police say.
CEDARHURST, NY — Police are seeking a couple who used racial slurs, made anti-Muslim remarks, and threatened to kill a store clerk while causing damage to a Cedarhurst gas station on Saturday night, according to Nassau Police.
The man and woman entered a Shell Gas Station on 408 Rockaway Turnpike and asked the store clerk for “slushies” at about 9:45 p.m.
When the clerk responded that the store didn't sell them, the couple began to yell and curse.

The man then tried to make a purchase with an EBT card, and the clerk advised him they were unable to use it as payment.
The couple became irate and started yelling at the clerk. The man also pushed a lottery machine off the counter, causing $4,000 in damage, police said.

The woman also began throwing items around the store and threatening the clerk, who was struck with some of the merchandise that was thrown around, police said.
The couple was last seen entering a dark four-door sedan in the parking lot of Starbucks located at 316 Rockaway Turnpike.
