Elmont Man Assaults AMT During Ride to Hospital: Cops
The man was being transported in an ambulance when he "became combative," police say.

EAST GARDEN CITY, NY - An Elmont man was arrested for assaulting an AMT while he was being transported in an ambulance in East Garden City on Sunday night, according to Nassau Police.
Police received a call for an aided case at XSport Fitness located at Roosevelt Field Mall on 630 Old Country Road.
After evaluating the aided, 22-year-old Demitri Nemorin, was being transported to a local hospital in the back of an ambulance when he "became combative" and hit the 36-year-old Nassau County Ambulance Medical Technician, police said.

The officer that was driving the ambulance pulled the vehicle over and assisted in restraining Nemorin, police said.
Both the AMT and Nemorin were transported to the local hospital for treatment of their injuries, police said.

Nemorin was then placed into custody, police said.
He is charged second degree assault and fourth degree criminal mischief, according to police.
He will be arraigned on Monday.
