Elmont Man Found With Fake Bank Checks, Credit Cards That Weren't His: Cops
The man was also found in his car possibly smoking marijuana, police say.

ELMONT, NY - An Elmont man was arrested after he was found with fake checks and credit cards that did not belong to him in Elmont on Thursday night, according to Nassau County Police.
Officers on patrol saw 36-year-old Dale E. Braithwaite, sitting in a 2010 Mercedes Benz parked on Dutch Broadway with its interior dome lights on and a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car at about 10:25 p.m., police said.
The officers found that Braithwaite was smoking and police recovered a substance believed to be marijuana, according to police.

Braithwaite was placed into police custody without incident.
Further investigation also revealed he was in possession of eight fake Chase bank checks and four credit cards that weren’t his, according to police.

Braithwaite is charged with eight count of second degree possession of a forged instrument, unlawful possession of marijuana, and various New York Vehicle and Traffic Law violations, police said.
He was arraigned on Friday.
