Five Teens Arrested For Attempting to Rob 15-Year-Old: Police
The group fled after finding no money on the victim, police say.

FRANKLIN SQUARE, NY - Five teens were arrested after attempting to rob a 15-year-old in Franklin Square on Friday night, according to Nassau Police.
The 15-year-old male was walking near the corner of Semton Boulevard and Hempstead Turnpike when he was approached from behind by a group of teens at about 7 p.m.
They forcibly threw the victim to the ground, demanded money and began hitting him about the head, police said.

They then searched his pockets, but after finding no money fled on bikes and on foot westbound on Hempstead Turnpike, according to police.
The victim returned home and called the police. He refused medical attention.

While on routine patrol two officers saw five boys fitting the description of the attempted robbers on the corner of Lexington Avenue and Hempstead Turnpike, according to police.
Police arrested three 16-year-old West Hempstead boys and two 15-year-old boys who were found to have a stun gun and a gravity knife, according to police.
The West Hempstead boys are being charged with attempted robbery, police said.
The two juveniles are being charged with attempted robbery and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
