Gun-Wielding Man Robs Nassau Deli

A man robbed a Valley Stream deli at gunpoint Friday, and police are searching for him.

According to detectives, a man wearing sunglasses entered the Rockaway Deli Mart, located on 429 Rockaway Ave. in Valley Stream at 4:17 p.m. Friday. He approached the female store clerk, lifted his sweatshirt and showed her the black handgun he had tucked in his waistband. He stole cash from the register before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction. The clerk was alone in the store at the time of the incident.
