The suspect, who was carrying a white cup with a dark-colored substance, threw the liquid at the woman's face.
Shortly after the attack, Ikram said of the ordeal that it was "worse than death."

Ikram, 23, underwent numerous treatments for her injuries as she continued her pre-medical studies at Hofstra University.
"Whatever it is, may God deal with you. I’m not even mad anymore – I just want to know who it is so I can have peace of mind. If it’s not meant for me to find out, I’m leaving it in God’s hands,” Ikram said at a news conference. "The whole point of this was that they wanted to make myself miserable and hate myself. Well, you lost. I refuse to let anyone – no matter who it is – tell me no."
Last month, police increased a reward to $50,000 for information leading to an arrest and a conviction.
A GoFundMe page to help with Ikram's recovery has received more than $570,000 in donations.
