Nassau Man Fired Multiple Shots Into the Air After Argument with Girlfriend: Police

BREAKING: The man decided to vent his frustration in a very unusual way, police say.

Police arrested an Inwood man outside his home Saturday night after they say he fired multiple shots into the air.

According to detectives, Otis Williams, 40, of Clinton Avenue, becamed involved in a verbal argument with his girlfriend, then stepped outside the residence with a handgun and fired multiple shots into the air at 9:08 p.m.

Police were dispatched to the scene and an investigation led to the arrest of Williams, as well as the recovery of a FEG PMK .380 handgun. No injuries were reported.

Williams is charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third degree criminal possession of a weapon, second degree reckless endangerment and prohibited use of a dangerous weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday.
