Man Killed In Nassau Car Crash

Police say there does not appear to be any criminality in the crash, which killed one.

A man was killed after a two-car crash in Woodmere earlier this morning.

According to police, a 2005 Mercury Sable was involved in a crash with a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan on Peninsula Boulevard, near the intersection of Lafayette Drive, this morning at 6:55 a.m. Police say the crash caused the driver of the Mercury to lose control of his car and hit a tree.

The driver suffered fatal injuries from the crash, and was pronounced dead by a Nassau County Police medic. Police have not yet released the man's identity.

The driver of the Dodge remained at the scene. Police say there does not appear to be any criminality in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing.
