UPDATE: Man Who Police Believed Was Abducted in Inwood Found Safe
Police said earlier that Aurelio Maldonado may have been shot, but that was not the case.
UPDATE 9 p.m.: Police say Maldonado has been found at an undisclosed location and is in "good physical health." Police released no other details.

INWOOD, NY – Nassau Police are searching for a 25-year-old man who they say may have been shot, abducted and placed into the trunk of a car early Sunday morning.

It happened at about 12:35 a.m. in the vicinity of Mott Avenue and Lawrence Avenue in Inwood, police said.
The victim, Aurelio Maldonado, is described as a white Hispanic, 5-foot-5, 180 pounds, with a medium build. He was wearing blue jeans and a collared long sleeve shirt with white, blue and gray stripes.

Police are asking anyone with information on Maldonado to contact the Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911.
